Sean and Mom, Jenny, have a powerful message that they share with others. They speak frankly about the circumstances and choices that Sean made that placed him in a wheelchair unable to talk or walk. Even though Sean’s voice is silent, his message can be heard loud and clear! But their story doesn’t stop there. They share the life they lead now, and they share the faith and the purpose that have allowed them to move from victims to victors!
What Would You Do???
What do you do when your brain no longer tells your body how to walk or talk, when even the simple act of swallowing your saliva is forgotten and when you concentrate on something the drool runs out of your mouth? What do you do when you can no longer control your body and do such basic things as telling it to take a deep breath?
If you are Sean Carter, you take the opportunity to tell others about the dangers of risky behavior. You tell others that there is Life After Brain Injury. You tell others, never, ever, ever, give up!
Sean and Jenny have been giving powerful presentations to groups since 2007. They have spoken to everyone from Law Enforcement Professionals, to Trauma/EMS personnel, High Schools and Middle Schools, Universities and Churches as well as groups of DWI offenders, and incarcerated prisoners.
Since 2013 all of their efforts have focused on the State of Texas where they live. However, they have spoken from New York State to Washington State, from Kentucky to New Mexico, from Oklahoma to Minnesota, and have spoken in cities and towns in Northern Mississippi.
The Nonprofit 501c3 that Sean Carter and his Mom, Jenny Carter, founded has worked under a Texas Department of Transportation Grant that has been awarded to Texas A&M AgriLife’s “Watch UR BAC” program. As sub-grantees, they are able to provide the presentation, WhenSeanSpeaks, to more than 500,000 people all over the state of Texas.
